Senior Pastor

Eddison Nelson, Sr. was born and raised in beautiful Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies. He accepted the lord Jesus Christ as his savior at the tender age of 8. Throughout his youth Eddison committed himself to learning and following in the way of the Master. His love for Jesus and enthusiasm to share Christ with his peers earned him the childhood nickname "Sunday School Boy."

Eddison migrated to the United States at age 19. Throughout his young adult years the call of God upon his life was evident. Eddison credits his start in ministry to mentor and friend Bishop Peter Gayle under whose guidance he was privileged to train.

Eddison Nelson Sr. became a member of the Church of God in 1990. As a layman he served as Youth Director and Councilman of the New Testament Church of God of Port Charlotte Florida under the leadership of Bishop Fennis Huggins. He also served as District Youth Director of the Fort Myers District under District Overseer Bishop Ernest Page, Jr. Eddison completed the Church of God Ministerial Internship Program in 2000. In January of 2003, Bishop Eddison was elected to serve as Pastor of The Ebenezer New Testament Church of God by the appointment of Florida-Cocoa State Administrative Bishop, Bishop Thomas Chennault. As Pastor of the Ebenezer Church for the last 7 years, Bishop Ed has been blessed to serve his members as teacher, encourager, and seeker of lost soul. He is fondly described by his congregants as faithful, fatherly, and full of energy; a man after God’s heart.
